Alexander’s Ragtime Band is a jazz band with a difference!
The band performs traditional jazz and Dixieland music from the 1920s and 1930s, but unlike most bands they are completely acoustic – meaning that they can roam your venue, entertaining your guests wherever they happen to be.
Their upbeat set list of jazz and swing standards is sure to delight and entertain guests – whether you’re hosting a private celebration, a wedding drinks reception, or a sporting event. You can expect to hear trad jazz classics such as When the Saints Go Marching In and Down by the Riverside alongside standards including All of Me and When You’re Smiling.
Because the band perform unamplified and don’t require electricity, they are the perfect option for outdoor entertainment – or for venues that don’t allow amplified music.
The standard trio of clarinet/saxophone, upright bass and washboard/percussion is instrumental – although you can also add a trumpeter or a male vocalist to give the band extra presence.
The band consists of highly experienced professional musicians trained at some of the UK’s leading conservatoires, and has entertained crowds at Cheltenham Festival, Royal Ascot, The Savoy, The Natural History Museum and many more.
